Using Comparative Adverbs

Some adverbs compare two verbs or adjectives to each other.

In these cases, the words good and bad take on the special forms better or worse.

Examples

Jo speaks Spanish better than Ari.

(better compares how Jo and Ari speak Spanish)

Dan plays soccer better than I do.

(better compares how Dan and I play soccer)

Gio dances worse than his dad does.

(worse compares how Gio and his dad dance)
