NoRedInk is committed to providing a product experience that is accessible for all users, including users with disabilities. Visit our Accessibility Help Center for details on how our site works with assistive technologies and adaptive strategies.
VPAT / Accessibility Conformance Report
NoRedInk substantially conforms to WCAG 2.1 level AA standards. See the NoRedInk Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) for detailed information about our conformance to each WCAG 2.1 AA standard. We use the Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) and offer the report as an accessible PDF and as an accessible DOCX for your convenience.
NoRedInk offers the following accessibility features:
- Screen reader & Braille devices support for most of the student experience.
- NoRedInk provides robust, screen reader-accessible announcement history and live region support on every page to help students perceive changes to standard page elements and custom interactions that are unique to NoRedInk.
- Check out our screen reader and Braille guides here. (Screen readers include, but are not limited to: JAWS and NVDA on Windows, ChromeVox on Chromebooks, VoiceOver on Apple devices, and TalkBack on Android.)
- Compatibility with voice control software and speech-to-text software.
- Consistent and relevant heading structure for cognitive clarity and enhanced navigation with assistive technologies.
- Keyboard support for the entire student experience. We recommend checking out our keyboard shortcut guides because these are the same shortcuts students with screen readers can use to work on NoRedInk.
- For students with low vision, most of our pages are responsive, meaning that students can use their browser or other assistive software to increase the size of text and elements on NoRedInk and still complete assignments successfully.
- For students who do not need a full-fledged screen reader, NoRedInk has a built-in text-to-speech feature that works on most of our exercises. Teachers and students can follow these steps to enable Text-to-Speech in their accounts.
Accessibility updates
NoRedInk regularly and actively updates our product. We release improvements on a weekly basis, which will often include improvements to accessibility and the overall user experience. Accessibility is an integral part of our concept, design, and product development and delivery process. NoRedInk is periodically audited for accessibility by a third party, using a combination of manual testing desktop browsers, assistive technologies, and accessibility testing tools. Our auditors produce an updated VPAT/Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) as part of this process. Areas identified for improvement in this audit process are addressed as part of our ongoing product delivery cycles. Accessibility changes made after the date of our most recent VPAT/ACR may not be reflected in that VPAT/ACR, but the latest information can be found in our Accessibility Help Center.
